What are Profiles?

Profiles in Comet are separate browsing spaces — each with its own data, settings, and look.
Every profile keeps its own history, bookmarks, passwords, extensions, and theme.

You can think of them as distinct “browsing worlds” — one for work, one for personal use, or even one for guests.

Why use multiple profiles?

  • Separation – Keep work and personal browsing completely independent.

  • Customization – Each profile can have its own name, color, and avatar for quick recognition.

  • Focus – Open a clean workspace with only the tabs and extensions relevant to that context.

  • Privacy – Stay signed into different accounts without switching or mixing cookies.

How to create or switch profiles

1. Open the profile menu
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of Comet.
From there, you’ll see all your profiles listed under “Other Comet Profiles.”

2. Add a new profile

  • Select Add Comet Profile.

  • Choose a name or label (e.g., Work or Personal).

  • Pick a color and avatar — each inspired by Comet’s visual system.

  • Click Done to create your new space.

3. Switch profiles
Click the profile icon and choose the profile you want to open.
Each one launches in its own window with its saved tabs, settings, and extensions.
