You can adjust these settings by opening Settings → Performance,
or by pressing ⌘ , (on macOS) / Ctrl , (on Windows).
1. Enable Energy Saver
Comet’s Energy Saver limits background activity and visual effects, such as smooth scrolling and video frame rates.
Turn it on to conserve battery when unplugged or running low on power.
2. Use Memory Saver
When Memory Saver is enabled, inactive tabs are temporarily paused to free up system memory.
They’ll automatically reload when you return to them, keeping your laptop fast and efficient.
Tip: Choose Balanced (recommended) under Memory Saver for the best mix of performance and battery life.
3. Adjust Preload pages
Comet can preload pages to make browsing and searching faster.
For best battery performance, choose Standard preloading or turn preloading off entirely.
Extended preloading is faster, but it may use more data and power.
4. Limit open tabs
Keeping too many tabs active increases memory and CPU usage.
Close tabs you’re not using to extend battery life.
5. Keep Performance issue alerts on
Leave this setting enabled — it helps Comet automatically detect and suggest fixes for behaviors that may impact battery life or performance.
