Safe Browsing & Security in Comet
Comet helps protect you from dangerous websites, downloads, and extensions using a built-in Safe Browsing system and secure connection tools.
Safe Browsing
Standard protection (recommended)
Warns you about sites, downloads, and extensions that are known to be dangerous.
No protection (not recommended)
Turns off all warnings and protection against malicious content.
To change these settings, open Settings → Privacy and Security → Security.
Secure Connections (HTTPS)
Comet can automatically warn you before visiting sites that don’t support secure connections.
When enabled, Always use secure connections helps ensure your data is encrypted whenever possible.
You can turn this on in Settings → Privacy and Security → Security → Secure connections.
Additional Security Options
Warn if a password was compromised
Comet checks whether passwords you’ve saved were exposed in known data breaches.
Your passwords and usernames are encrypted locally and never sent in readable form.
Use secure DNS
Adds an extra layer of privacy by encrypting DNS lookups, making it harder for others to see which sites you visit.
You can select your DNS provider (for example, OS default, Cloudflare, or Google DNS).
