Updating Comet Browser
Keeping Comet up to date ensures you have the latest security fixes, performance improvements, and feature updates.
How updates work
Comet checks for updates automatically in the background and installs them once they’re available.
When a new version is ready, a small Update button will appear directly in the main browser toolbar — you can click it anytime to restart and apply the latest build.
How to check for updates manually
You can also manually check for updates:
Open the menu (⋯) in the top-right corner.
Go to Help → About Comet.
Comet will automatically check for new versions and show your current build number.
If an update is available, click Check for update to install it.
Alternatively, you can open comet://settings/help directly to access the same page.
Why updates matter
Security: Protects against newly discovered vulnerabilities.
Performance: Keeps Comet running smoothly and efficiently.
New features: Gives you early access to the latest browsing tools and AI-powered features.
Stability: Reduces crashes and compatibility issues.
Troubleshooting update issues
If Comet isn’t updating correctly:
Make sure you’re connected to the internet.
Restart Comet and try again.
Check that your firewall or antivirus isn’t blocking update requests.
If the problem persists, reinstall Comet from the official download page.
