Older Windows and Mac apps do not upgrade to the new app automatically. Install the new app, sign in, then delete the old one.
Windows

Install the new app from the Microsoft Store or the Perplexity website.

Open it and sign in.

Delete the old Perplexity app.
Mac

Download and install the new app from the Perplexity website.

Open it and sign in.

Open Applications in Finder.

Delete the older Perplexity app that was installed from the Mac App Store.
Deleting the old application does not delete your Perplexity account, Projects, or cloud-based threads.
