Introducing Portable Computer

I’m going to walk you through portable computer, which is essentially Perplexity Computer, but running fully local on this NVIDIA DGX Spark.

Built with NVIDIA, it puts the model orchestrator, planner, tool router, and local connectors on your desktop. A lot of work is better off staying local, and local models can now do that work really well.

And the best part is it doesn't cost any credits.

Important work stays local

Portable computer reads local files and takes actions on the machine. Dictation runs locally too. When a step meets that live web or frontier reasoning, the orchestrator asks to escalate that step.

Private data query

I'm going to show you a query against a folder of private financial data. Review my tax returns, 1099s, and brokerage statements from 2018 on. Calculate returns after fees and taxes by year, and slack the holdings that cost the most. The plan comes up first. The local orchestrator opens each statement, reconciles it against the returns, and builds the year-by-year math on the spark. Nothing leaves the machine. One step needs current market data, portable computer sends that step to a cloud model with perplexity search and brings source comps back into the local run. I don't have to switch models manually.
