# Find Projects, Threads, and Previous Work

> All of your sessions — Ask threads and Computer tasks — appear together in the app's sidebar; there are no separate tabs for each.

<h2 id="h_find_recent_work"><b>Find recent work</b></h2>

<p>All of your sessions — Ask threads and Computer tasks — appear together in the app's sidebar; there are no separate tabs for each. Open <strong>History</strong> from the sidebar to browse them.</p>

<h2 id="h_search_your_threads"><b>Search your threads</b></h2>

<p>To find a specific saved session, use search mode:</p>

<ul>

    <p>Mac → a dedicated input field in the side bar</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Windows → a magnifying glass icon in the top left corner</p>
  </li>
</ul>

<h2 id="h_find_a_project"><b>Find a Project</b></h2>

<p>A Perplexity Project is different from a local folder:</p>

<ul>

    <p>A <strong>Project</strong> organizes Perplexity threads, instructions, and cloud files.</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>A <strong>folder</strong> contains local files on a specific computer.</p>
  </li>
</ul>

<h2 id="h_if_something_is_missing"><b>If something is missing</b></h2>

<ul>
  <li>
    <p>Check whether you are looking for an Ask thread, Computer task, Project, or local folder.</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Check History in the sidebar, or the appropriate task or Project view.</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Compare the work visible in the app with Perplexity on the web.</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Reinstalling the app does not delete cloud-based Projects or threads.</p>
  </li>
