# Connecting Perplexity with FactSet

> Ask compliant, finance-grade questions in Perplexity and get answers grounded in your authorized FactSet MCP data.

<h2 id="h_a0d0f0b3b7">Connecting Perplexity with FactSet</h2>

<p>The FactSet Connector lets eligible users connect Perplexity to FactSet MCP tools, so they can ask questions that use authorized FactSet data.</p>

<p>This connector requires separate FactSet MCP access. FactSet MCP access is not included by default with FactSet Workstation.</p>

<h2 id="h_99ef456e58">What you need before you start</h2>

<ul>
  <li>
    <p>A Perplexity account with access to Connectors.</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>A FactSet account that has been entitled for FactSet MCP access.</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Your FactSet login method, such as single sign-on (SSO) or your FactSet email and password.</p>
  </li>
</ul>

<p>If you already use FactSet Workstation but do not have FactSet MCP access, contact your FactSet account team to ask about access, commercials, or a trial.</p>

<p>If you are not currently a FactSet client, contact <a href="mailto:sales@factset.com" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">[sales@factset.com](mailto:sales@factset.com)</a> to ask about FactSet MCP access.</p>

<h2 id="h_5dbf38b55c">How to activate it</h2>

    <p>Open Perplexity.</p>
  </Step>

    <p>Go to <b>Settings</b>. You can find Settings under your organization icon in the bottom-left corner of the Perplexity web app.</p>
  </Step>

  <Step>
    <p>Open the <b>Connectors</b> settings page.</p>
  </Step>

  <Step>
    <p>Search for <b>FactSet</b>.</p>
  </Step>

  <Step>
    <p>Click the <b>FactSet</b> connector tile.</p>
  </Step>

  <Step>
    <p>Click <b>Add</b> or <b>Enable</b>.</p>
  </Step>

  <Step>
    <p>Sign in with FactSet. Depending on your organization, you may use SSO or enter your FactSet email and password.</p>
  </Step>

  <Step>
    <p>After the FactSet login finishes, return to Perplexity.</p>
  </Step>

  <Step>
    <p>Confirm that the FactSet connector shows as connected.</p>
  </Step>

<h2 id="h_88172a7da0">Trying it out</h2>

<p>Once FactSet is connected, start a new query in Perplexity and use FactSet as a source.</p>

<p>You can do this in either of these ways:</p>

    <p>Type <code>@FactSet</code> in your query.</p>

    <p>Click the <b>+</b> icon in the search box, open <b>Connectors and sources</b>, and select <b>FactSet</b>.</p>

<p>Then ask a finance question that should use FactSet data.</p>

<h2 id="h_a442bfefd5">Troubleshooting</h2>

<h3 id="h_94a611a1da">I do not see the FactSet connector</h3>

<p>Check that you are on the correct Perplexity account and organization. If you are in an Enterprise organization, your admin may also need to enable the connector for your organization.</p>

<h3 id="h_0dd37ea066">I can sign in to FactSet Workstation, but the connector does not work</h3>

<p>FactSet MCP access is a separate entitlement. Contact your FactSet account team and confirm that your account has FactSet MCP access.</p>

<h3 id="h_2439f5d83b">My FactSet login fails</h3>

<p>Try signing in again and confirm that you are using the same FactSet account that was granted MCP access. If your organization uses SSO, use the SSO flow instead of a password login.</p>

<h3 id="h_c254e828c9">I connected FactSet, but answers are not using it</h3>

<p>Start a new query and make sure FactSet is selected as a source. You can use <code>@FactSet</code> in the query or select FactSet from <b>Connectors and sources</b>.</p>
