# API Payment and billing

<h2 id="h_027e210aaf">How do I add a payment method?</h2>

<p>You can add a payment method by going to the <a href="https://console.perplexity.ai/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">API Console</a>. To add new billing information, go to the "Billing" tab on the left sidebar and click on "Add payment method."</p>

<h3 id="h_19fcca02ac">How do I purchase API credits?</h3>

<p>API credits are available for purchase on a pay-as-you-go basis. To add credits, go to the <a href="https://console.perplexity.ai/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">API Console</a> and click "Buy more credits." You can also enable "Automatic Top Up" to automatically replenish your balance when it drops below \$2. For enterprise procurement (invoicing, purchase orders, or custom terms), <a href="https://perplexity.typeform.com/to/m3WnMaG6" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">contact our sales team</a>.</p>

<p>Note: API Credits are separate from <a href="/help-center/help-center/en/articles/13838041-how-credits-work-on-perplexity" rel="nofollow">Computer Credits</a>.</p>

<h3 id="h_6f579f8582">I purchased too many credits, can I get a refund?</h3>

<p>Refunds can be processed if you report the issue within 14 days of the purchase date and if the credits have not been used. Used credits are non-refundable.</p>

<h3 id="h_93e8aebf70">Is Perplexity Pro required for API usage?</h3>

<p>No, a Perplexity subscription is not required to purchase API credits or use the API. API access is available to all users as a separate service.</p>
