# Voice Mode

<p><b>What is Voice Mode?</b><br />​</p>

<p>Voice Mode lets you talk to Comet hands-free while you browse. You can ask about anything on your screen, tell Comet to navigate to a page, or continue a conversation across multiple tabs without losing context.</p>

<p><b>How do I start Voice Mode?</b><br />​</p>

<p>You can launch Voice Mode in two ways:</p>

<ul>
  <li>
    <p>Click the <b>Voice Mode</b> icon in the Comet toolbar</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Use the keyboard shortcut <b>⌥⇧V</b> on Mac or <b>Alt+Shift+V</b> on Windows</p>
  </li>
</ul>

<p>The Voice Mode panel will appear and begin listening as soon as it opens.</p>

<p><b>What can I do with Voice Mode?</b></p>

<p><b>Ask about your screen</b></p>

<p>Ask Comet about anything visible in your current tab — text, images, prices, summaries — without copying or switching apps.<br />​</p>

<p><b>Navigate sites</b></p>

<p>Tell Comet to open a page, follow a link, or scroll — all by voice.</p>

<p><b>Continue across tabs</b></p>

<p>Switch between tabs freely. Comet keeps the conversation going and remembers your context across the session.</p>

<p><b>How do I mute myself during a session?</b></p>

<p>Click the <b>microphone icon</b> in the Voice Mode panel to mute. The panel will show <b>Microphone muted</b> while your mic is off. Click the icon again to unmute.</p>

<p>To mute both your microphone and Comet's speaker at the same time, click the <b>headphone icon</b> in the toolbar.</p>

<p><b>How do I customize Voice Mode?</b></p>

<p>Click the <b>settings icon</b> in the Voice Mode panel. From there you can change:</p>

<ul>
  <li>
    <p><b>Conversation Language</b> — choose from 36 supported languages</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p><b>Voice Style</b> — choose from 10 available voices</p>
  </li>
</ul>

<p>Both settings take effect immediately and can be changed at any time during a session.</p>

<p><b>Does Voice Mode work across tabs?</b></p>

<p>Yes. Comet maintains your conversation context when you switch tabs. You can browse to a new page mid-conversation and pick up right where you left off.</p>

<p><b>How do I stop a Voice Mode session?</b><br />​</p>

<p>Press the <b>stop</b> icon on the right side of the Voice Mode panel. This ends the session and closes the panel.</p>
