# Cycle Most Recent Tabs

<h2 id="h_3c98ec403d">What is Cycle Most Recent Tabs?</h2>

<p>Cycle Most Recent Tabs is a keyboard shortcut that lets you quickly switch between your most recently used tabs, similar to how Cmd+Tab (Mac) or Alt+Tab (Windows) works for switching between applications.</p>

<h2 id="h_53aff1a722">How do I use Cycle Most Recent Tabs?</h2>

<p>There are two ways to use it</p>

<h3 id="h_acb5e4d553">Quick switch (between 2 most recent tabs):</h3>

<ul>
  <li>
    <p><b>Mac</b>: Tap <code>Opt + Tab</code> quickly</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p><b>Windows</b>: Tap <code>Ctrl + Tab</code> quickly</p>
  </li>
</ul>

<p>This instantly swaps between your two most recently used tabs.</p>

<h3 id="h_beaa863f90">Visual menu (cycle through recent tabs):</h3>

<ul>
  <li>
    <p><b>Mac</b>: Hold <code>Opt</code> and tap <code>Tab</code> repeatedly</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p><b>Windows</b>: Hold <code>Ctrl</code> and tap <code>Tab</code> repeatedly</p>
  </li>
</ul>

<p>A visual menu appears showing your recent tabs. Keep holding the key and tap <code>Tab</code> to cycle through them. Release to switch to the highlighted tab.</p>

<h2 id="h_315d2448af">How do I set up Cycle Most Recent Tabs?</h2>

<p>Navigate to <code>comet://settings/shortcuts</code> and find the "Cycle most recent tabs" option.</p>

<p><b>Important for Windows users</b>: By default, <code>Ctrl + Tab</code> may be assigned to another function. You'll need to choose which shortcut behavior you prefer - enable Cycle Most Recent Tabs or keep the default tab cycling.</p>

<p><b>Mac users</b>: There's no shortcut conflict - <code>Opt + Tab</code> is available by default.</p>
