# Comet memory

> Learn how Comet uses your Perplexity account's memory system, and how to view, manage, or delete saved memories and search history in your settings.

Can I control Comet’s memory?

Comet itself doesn’t store memory — it uses the same memory system as Perplexity.
That means what’s remembered lives securely in your Perplexity account, not in the browser.

Memory helps recall your regular searches and questions, so you can pick up where you left off or get more relevant answers over time.
It’s shared across all devices where you’re signed in to your Perplexity account.

You can open it anytime from the New Tab Page → Account → Preferences → Memory.

This takes you to your Perplexity account settings, since Comet uses the same memory system — it’s shared across all your devices and sessions.

In the Memory section, you can:

Reference search library — let Comet use your previous searches when answering.

Reference saved memories — allow Comet to remember useful context from your past questions.

Edit your saved memories — review or delete anything you no longer want stored.

You can turn each option on or off at any time.
Turning them off won’t affect your ability to use Comet — it just disables contextual improvements.

Only your normal searches and questions are saved.

Note! Agent actions (like browsing a site or completing a task for you) are not stored in memory.
