# Split-view Mode

> Use Split View in Comet to open two tabs side by side in one window, with steps to start it, swap tab positions, and separate tabs back to normal view.

<h2 id="h_9944940847">What is Split View in Comet?</h2>

<p>Split View lets you open and work with two tabs side by side in the same browser window. It’s a simple way to compare content, multitask, or keep two sites in view without switching back and forth.</p>

<h2 id="h_9ae85333f6">How to Open Split View</h2>

<p>You can start Split View in several ways:</p>

<ul>
  <li>
    <p><b>Right-click</b> an inactive tab → <i>New Split View With Current Tab</i></p>

    <ul>
      <li>
        <p>or <b>Option + Click</b> to open quickly</p>
      </li>
    </ul>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Open the <b>Menu</b> (top right) → <i>Add Split View</i> → select a website</p>
  </li>
</ul>

<h2 id="h_4b3d5d0fb8">How to Swap Tabs in Split View</h2>

<p>In Split View mode, you can switch the position of the two tabs using:</p>

<ul>
  <li>
    <p>The <b>Split View icon</b> (one filled square + one empty square) in the top right</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p><b>Right-click</b> on the double-tab bar → <i>Arrange Split View</i> → <i>Switch Tab Positions</i></p>
  </li>
</ul>

<h2 id="h_14535a9814">How to Exit Split View</h2>

<p>To separate the tabs back into normal view:</p>

<ul>
  <li>
    <p>Click the <b>X</b> next to one of the tabs</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p><b>Right-click</b> on the double-tab bar → <i>Arrange Split View</i> → <i>Separate Tabs</i></p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Use the <b>Split View icon</b> in the top right → <i>Separate Tabs</i></p>
  </li>
</ul>
