# Uninstalling Comet

> How to uninstall the Comet browser on Windows and macOS, including optional steps to remove leftover settings, cache, and support files completely.

    <p>Open the Settings app (press Windows Key + I).</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Go to Apps > Installed apps (or Apps & Features on some versions).</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Find Comet in the list.</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Click it and select Uninstall. Follow the prompts to complete the process.</p>
  </li>

<p><b>I don’t see Comet in my Apps list. Where else can I look?</b></p>

    <p>Open Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program.</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Look for Comet in the list and uninstall from there.</p>
  </li>
</ul>

<p><b>Are there leftover files I should remove after uninstalling?</b><br />While the built-in uninstaller removes the app, some settings or cache data might remain.</p>

<p>Note: This step is not required for most users and is optional.</p>

    <p>Drag Comet to the Trash.</p>

    <p>Right-click the Trash and select Empty Trash if you want to free up disk space immediately.</p>

<p><b>Are there settings or support files left after uninstalling?</b><br />Some user data may remain after uninstalling via the Applications folder.</p>

    <p>To fully remove them, open Finder.</p>
  </li>

    <p>Go to Go > Go to Folder… and enter <code>\~/Library/Application Support/</code></p>

    <p>If a <code>Comet</code> folder is present, you may delete it.<br />This is optional for most users.</p>

<p><b>Do I need to use special cleaning tools?</b><br />No. The standard uninstall instructions above will remove Comet and its data for most situations. Support files are harmless and deleting them is optional.</p>

<p><b>Will uninstalling Comet affect other browsers or apps?</b><br />No. Uninstalling Comet only removes this browser and its data. Other browsers and apps remain unaffected.</p>
