# Personalizing Comet

<p>Personalizing your browsing experience in Comet helps you tailor how the web looks and feels to your preferences. Here’s how you can adjust key aspects for a smoother, more comfortable browsing session.</p>

<h2 id="h_f7e793f3a3">Change Text, Image & Video Sizes (Zoom)</h2>

<p>Comet allows you to change the size of text, images, and videos on one web page or across all web pages for better readability.</p>

    <p><b>Default Zoom for a Site</b>:</p>

        <p>Open Comet and click the dropdown arrow menu in the top right next to your profile icon.</p>

        <p>Next to “Zoom,” select the zoom options:</p>

            <p>To make everything larger: Click “Zoom in.”</p>
          </li>

          <li>
            <p>To make everything smaller: Click “Zoom out.”</p>
          </li>

            <p>For full-screen mode: Click “Full screen.”</p>

    <p><b>Customizing for All Pages</b>: Go to Settings > Appearance. Adjust “Page zoom” or “Font size” as desired. Note: Some sites may not allow text-only resizing.</p>

<h2 id="h_08a455a335">Browse in Dark Mode or Dark Theme</h2>

<p>Dark mode helps reduce eye strain and can make browsing more comfortable in low-light environments.</p>

    <p>To change the setting, visit the Settings page which you can find by going to <a href="comet://settings" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">comet://settings/</a> or when you click the dropdown arrow menu in the top right next to your profile icon, where you will see Settings all the way down.</p>

    <p>Under “Appearance,” or when going to <a href="comet://settings/appearance" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">comet://settings/appearance</a> find the area where it says "Theme" and select the following from the dropdown.</p>

        <p>Light: Comet will show standard appearance.</p>
      </li>

      <li>
        <p>Dark: Comet will use a dark theme across your homepage, toolbar, settings, and more.</p>
      </li>

      <li>
        <p>Device: Comet will follow your device’s system theme setting.</p>
      </li>
    </ul>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Note: Your browser may also appear dark when using private (Incognito) mode.</p>

<h2 id="h_dfcb750d09">Create, Find, and Edit Bookmarks in Comet</h2>

<p>Bookmarks in Comet let you easily return to your favorite and frequently visited websites.</p>

<p><b>Add a Bookmark:</b></p>

    <p>Go to your favorite site in Comet.</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Find and click the dropdown arrow menu in the top right next to your profile icon.</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Find Bookmarks with the Star icon.</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Click on Bookmark this tab or you can also use the following shortcuts:</p>

      <li>
        <p>Mac OS: Command + D</p>
      </li>

      <li>
        <p>Windows: Ctrl + D</p>
      </li>
    </ul>
  </li>
</ul>

<p><b>Edit, Move, or Delete Bookmarks:</b></p>

    <p>To find your bookmarks, click the dropdown arrow menu in the top right next to your profile icon and select "Bookmarks" with the star icon.</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>Access the Bookmark Manager by choosing Menu > Bookmarks and lists > Bookmark Manager.</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>To edit a bookmark: Click the bookmark, then select “Edit.”</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>To delete a bookmark: Click the bookmark, then select “Delete.” Note: Deleted bookmarks can’t be recovered.</p>
  </li>

  <li>
    <p>To organize: Drag bookmarks into folders or reorder them as you wish.</p>
  </li>

<p><b>Create Folders and Sort Bookmarks:</b></p>

    <p>In the Bookmark Manager, use the options menu to add folders or sort bookmarks by name, date, or custom order.</p>

<h2 id="h_5be825c8cd">What is the difference between pins and bookmarks?</h2>

<p>Pins quickly allow you to move from one site to the next, bookmarks are hidden but easily can be found via shortcuts. Pins are always visible whereas bookmarks may remain hidden and are generally more customizable.</p>
