An Introduction to Perplexity Assets
This video provides an overview of Perplexity Assets (formerly Labs), a project-based AI tool for Pro and Enterprise subscribers that enables users to generate reports, analyze data, build dashboards, and run code within a single workspace. We go over use cases such as report generation, dashboard building, code automation, and research consolidation.
Model Selection
When you open up Perplexity, you'll notice a model selector at the bottom of your search bar. By default, Perplexity will choose what it thinks is the best model for your query. But as an enterprise user, you have full control to select the model that you want. So if you click down, you can see the options. You can either default to the best model that fits your query, or you can choose a specific model that you like. For example, if you know that Claude is better for your writing style or is better for creative brainstorming, you can go ahead and select Claude. Now every query in this thread will use your chosen model for answers.
Focusing Sources
Next, I want to go over the focus feature. You can set sources for your web search to include the web, but you can also have it focus on academic papers, switch through SEC filings, specific organization files your admin has uploaded, or files from your file app connector that you have chosen to continuously sync. Other data integrations are also available. You can also attach files for every question on a one-off basis, whether it's uploading files locally or connecting them from your Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, SharePoint, or OneDrive.
Recap & Benefits
To recap, you can use the model drop-down to select your preferred AI model before you search. You can leverage the focus feature to guide the model to the best sources for your needs, or you can upload files for a one-off search as well. By prioritizing your favorite model and refining your search, you'll get faster, more accurate results tailored to your workflow.
