Perplexity Computer, Perplexity on Samsung Galaxy S26, and upgraded Comet Voice Mode

Perplexity Computer

Perplexity Computer unifies every current AI capability into one system. Research, design, code, deploy, and manage any project end-to-end — all from a single conversation.

Computer can orchestrate work across 19 models in parallel, matching each task to the best model for the job. Hand off a complex project — building a website, drafting a report, analysing a dataset — and Computer breaks it down, delegates to specialised agents, and delivers the finished result. It remembers past work, connects to hundreds of services, and runs securely in the cloud.

Computer is available now on web for Max subscribers, and coming soon to Pro and Enterprise. Max subscribers receive 10,000 credits per month, plus a one-time bonus of 20,000 credits.

Try asking Perplexity Computer to:

  • Build a live website from a single prompt: Create an interactive stock price timeline for Walmart over the last 12 months, overlaying notable events, using Walmart's brand colours.
  • Run a full financial analysis hands-free: Build a detailed NVDA valuation analysis with a 5-year DCF, revenue forecasts, and margin assumptions pulled from the latest earnings.
  • Automate a deep competitive breakdown: Using Q&A from the last 4 quarters of Mag7 earnings, build an interactive leaderboard that shows how direct vs. avoidant each executive's answers are.

Perplexity on Samsung Galaxy S26

Perplexity is now integrated into Samsung Galaxy S26 phones at a deep level, powering search and reasoning for both the Perplexity assistant and Samsung's Bixby.

  • Perplexity preloaded with "Hey Plex": The Perplexity app will come preloaded on every Galaxy S26 — making Perplexity the first non-Google company to receive OS-level access on a Samsung device. Say "Hey Plex" or press and hold the side button to launch the assistant instantly. Deep integration across Samsung apps including Notes, Calendar, Gallery, Clock, and Reminders enables seamless multi-step workflows without needing to switch between apps.
  • Perplexity APIs power Bixby and Samsung Internet: Samsung's Galaxy S26 is the first smartphone to integrate Perplexity's APIs at the platform level. Bixby now uses Perplexity for real-time web search and advanced reasoning — delivering accurate, up-to-date answers grounded in the latest information. Perplexity's capabilities also extend to Samsung Internet, bringing agentic browsing capabilities perfected in our Comet browser, with Perplexity available as an optional default search engine.

Read the blog post for more, and get ready for Perplexity on your future S26 to help you:

  • Ask questions and get sourced answers without opening a browser
  • Save information directly into Samsung Notes from a Perplexity response
  • Set reminders and add calendar entries through a single conversation

Upgraded Voice Mode in Comet

Talk to Comet about whatever's on your screen, interact with sites, or chat across multiple tabs without losing context. Voice mode now runs on OpenAI's GPT Realtime 1.5 model, with over 25% more reliable interactions and dramatically improved voice expressiveness. Rolled out to everyone on Comet for desktop and Android.

Download Comet and try:

  • Browse a stock portfolio hands-free: "What's happening with my watchlist today? Scroll down and show me the biggest movers."
  • Navigate without touching: "Open the third link, scroll down to the specs section, and compare it to the tab on the left."
  • Summarise across tabs by voice: "Compare the pricing on these three hotel tabs and tell me which has the best deal for next weekend."

Improved Perplexity Finance Timeline

The price history view on Perplexity Finance asset pages is now more comprehensive:

  • More news sources reviewed, including newswire content from MT Newswires and Benzinga
  • More adjacent data is considered, including movement of top indexes, sectors, and assets
  • Entries are updated more frequently, especially for higher-market-cap assets
  • After-hours price movement is included
  • Expanded coverage to include all types of assets: equity, crypto, index, commodity, ETF
  • More languages are supported beyond English

State-of-the-Art Embedding Models

Perplexity's search embedding models lead the industry — surpassing Google and Alibaba on public and internal benchmarks. We’ve now released them to everyone across two model families: pplx-embed-v1 for standard dense retrieval and pplx-embed-context-v1 for document-aware contextual retrieval, each at 0.6B and 4B parameter scales. The 4B INT8 variant stores 4x more pages per GB, while the binary variant stores 32x more. Open-source under MIT License on Hugging Face and available through the Perplexity API. Read the technical report for more. The Pplx-embed models help developers:

  • Power a semantic search engine: Build a search index over 10 million documents that understands meaning, not just keywords, and returns relevant results in milliseconds.
  • Run multilingual RAG pipelines: Index technical documentation in English, Japanese, and German and retrieve the right passages regardless of the language of the question.
  • Scale web-level retrieval affordably: Use the binary quantized model to index over a billion web pages on a single server without sacrificing retrieval quality.
